Renato Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent Smefeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. The supporters of AIF booed when Defensores de Savóia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renato Rocha was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Kent Smefeldt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kent Smefeldt really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Renato Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilhelm Alströmer in the 10th minute of play. Kristoffer Vester took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Renato Rocha. Renato Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Renato Rocha successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Renato Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Smefeldt in the 15th minute of the match. Marek Szostak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Sampaio in the 16th minute of play. AIF's Kristoffer Vester came free and shot a quick shot against goal 17 minutes in the game, fortunately Renato Rocha had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The supporters of Defensores de Savóia booed when AIF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Engström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match, Kristoffer Vester got a very nice opportunity to score, but Renato Rocha was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 31st minute of the match, Kent Smefeldt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Renato Rocha saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Wilhelm Alströmer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Renato Rocha made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Wilhelm Alströmer notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Defensores de Savóia's Renato Rocha. Renato Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 38th match minute, AIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Birger Engström to maneuver through the defense. When Kent Smefeldt came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the AIF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kent Smefeldt couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olívio Sampaio was the one to do the kick off. Renato Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristoffer Vester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Defensores de Savóia getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. José Carlos Fernandez hit a great ball. After 61 played minutes, AIF's Kasper Alströmer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Renato Rocha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AIF reached it. José Carlos Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Kristoffer Vester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. José Carlos Fernandez hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Renato Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilhelm Alströmer in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristoffer Vester in the 76th minute of play forced Defensores de Savóia's goalkeeper Renato Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to AIF getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Wilhelm Alströmer hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Defensores de Savóia's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Smefeldt came free, but Renato Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Kristoffer Vester ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renato Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Carl Kilman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Renato Rocha. Defensores de Savóia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Benjamin Tolsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. AIF's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Tolsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renato Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 90 minutes into the match, Wilhelm Alströmer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renato Rocha. Defensores de Savóia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilhelm Alströmer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristoffer Vester in the 95th minute of play forced Defensores de Savóia's goalkeeper Renato Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Wilhelm Alströmer made a precise shot to the right of Renato Rocha. Defensores de Savóia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. AIF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
