In the 12th minute Angel Di Maria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanko Karaivanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yanko Karaivanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Tipi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sasho Temkov hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Melchor Rosio in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yanko Karaivanov saved DOROSTOL Ss from getting behind. DOROSTOL Ss's Vencho Hristoskov got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pascual Tipi during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 21 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Tipi. Yanko Karaivanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melchor Rosio in the 24th minute of the match. Sergio Romero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kostadin Desov in the 28th minute. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Pascual Tipi hit a great ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Timoteo Eguntsenti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting de Gijón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timoteo Eguntsenti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute, Vencho Hristoskov made a precise shot to the right of Sergio Romero. Sporting de Gijón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in DOROSTOL Ss's zone, Timoteo Eguntsenti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yanko Karaivanov came out of the goal and Timoteo Eguntsenti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th match minute, DOROSTOL Ss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sasho Temkov to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celestino Illart got free with Yanko Karaivanov in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute Timoteo Eguntsenti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanko Karaivanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timoteo Eguntsenti couldn't finish the play. Melchor Rosio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Yanko Karaivanov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damián Šilha to maneuver through the defense. 98 minutes into the match, DOROSTOL Ss's Vencho Hristoskov broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. DOROSTOL Ss had won after a very even match.
