Arkhip Repin's late challenge caught a Guarei FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arkhip Repin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Guarei FC booed when FC Caspiy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arkhip Repin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Caspiy! FC Caspiy:s Martyn Baiseitov showed great skill when he stopped Maurício Bertassi:s penalty. In the 18th minute, Vladimir Bogdanov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Timur Grek kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving João Francisco Costa. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Caspiy's Timur Grek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Francisco Costa. That made the score 2-0 after 26 minutes of play. Timur Grek received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Francisco Costa came out and tried to block the shot, but Timur Grek slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 31st minute. In the 39th minute, Guarei FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Boris Nekrasov fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Caspiy's Timur Grek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Francisco Costa. That made the score 4-0 after 40 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute, Claudinho Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timur Grek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. João Francisco Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Caspiy's Artem Yastrebov was substituted for Timur Grek. Aloísio Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. João Francisco Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artem Yastrebov, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 61 minutes Guarei FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vladimir Bogdanov who took care of the corner kick. With a little luck, FC Caspiy's Martyn Baiseitov got control of the ball when Hermínio Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute, Arkhip Repin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 81 minutes, Aloísio Ferraz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guarei FC and the FC Caspiy players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Guarei FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Aloísio Ferraz hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Guarei FC's zone, Vladimir Bogdanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Francisco Costa came out of the goal and Vladimir Bogdanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 85th minute Artem Yastrebov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th match minute, FC Caspiy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Bogdanov to maneuver through the defense. Guarei FC's João Francisco Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Nekrasov in the 95th minute of play. FC Caspiy's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
