Venezia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Punta Alvear the free kick. The supporters of Punta Alvear booed when Venezia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximino Guillerme didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Julian Ekialde's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ramon Beremundo was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 13th minute Benedicto Kiliz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Abbondanzieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Iratxo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Roberto Abbondanzieri made a huge save. In the 16th match minute, Punta Alvear was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Sal to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Beremundo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Ekialde, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Venezia FC's Roberto Abbondanzieri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Venezia FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Ekialde in the 22nd minute of play forced Punta Alvear's goalkeeper Ramon Beremundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roberto Abbondanzieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Iratxo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Justino Bartolome shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Abbondanzieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Iratxo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roberto Abbondanzieri came out and tried to block the shot, but Patricio Iratxo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, Punta Alvear's Flavio Gergori got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Maximino Guillerme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximino Guillerme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramon Beremundo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Venezia FC's Gennaro Gattuso got a free kick in the 39th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Punta Alvear's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Ekialde came free, but Ramon Beremundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Punta Alvear's Patricio Iratxo got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Ekialde made a kick off. Ramon Beremundo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tito Ramírez in the 56th minute of play. Ramon Beremundo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Ekialde's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When Venezia FC's Julian Ekialde in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Punta Alvear's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Venezia FC booed when Punta Alvear was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Gurutz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tsubasa Ozora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ovidio Sal hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the match, Venezia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Ortzi came free, but Roberto Abbondanzieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Ramon Beremundo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julian Ekialde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Ramon Beremundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramon Beremundo made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Maximino Guillerme sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Venezia FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Flavio Bazkoare hit a great ball. In the 90th minute Prudencio Ortzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Abbondanzieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezia FC's Roberto Abbondanzieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Gurutz in the 93rd minute of play. Roberto Abbondanzieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Kiliz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Punta Alvear were victorious despite being under pressure from Venezia FC for much of the match.
