The Les Bistouquettes Bleues fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Edmondo Ruggieri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 33 played minutes Les Bistouquettes Bleues got a freekick which was hit by Constant Van De Beeck. After some careless play in the ATLÉTICO PAULISTA - CIMZ defense, Raymond Rutgeerts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duarte Leão. The ATLÉTICO PAULISTA - CIMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duarte Leão should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the game, Raymond Rutgeerts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Duarte Leão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Raymond Rutgeerts scored 0-7 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Duarte Leão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Abelardo Diniz fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ATLÉTICO PAULISTA - CIMZ's protests and gave Abelardo Diniz a yellow card for diving instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-7 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jeff Van Haechten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Duarte Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raymond Rutgeerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Duarte Leão made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Jeff Van Haechten sent off a good shot on target. Duarte Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Ruggieri, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Raymond Rutgeerts succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-8 in the 59th playminute. Jorge Gyselinx's late challenge caught a ATLÉTICO PAULISTA - CIMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Gyselinx helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Nico da Cunha hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. When the match was over Les Bistouquettes Bleues could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ATLÉTICO PAULISTA - CIMZ throughout the match.
