After the first half Deportivo Rodriguez were leading 0-8. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jason Douglas to make the kick off. Deportivo Rodriguez's attack was well implemented in the 51st minute, but when Jason Douglas was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gică Panaiteanu firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alex Rizescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Joyce having to interfere. Javier Rodriguez scored 0-14 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gică Panaiteanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
