Demetrio Busillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldão de Carvalho hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the game, Felice Piccinini cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rony Netto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armin Oberrauch in the 36th minute of play forced Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper Rony Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Demetrio Busillo came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Alvinegro Carioca's Sydney Torres. But to his dismay, Sydney Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a rather tough play, Alvinegro Carioca's Ronaldão de Carvalho got a free kick in the 45th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sydney Torres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience held their breath when Pedro Luiz Diniz in the 89th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Demetrio Busillo's left hand side. Pedro Luiz Diniz was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Pedro Luiz Diniz hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Alvinegro Carioca had won after a very even match.
