The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstantinos Pantelidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Dênis de Castro in the 9th minute really tested Aris Tsobanis's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 12th minute, Sotiris Panagiotopoulos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aris Tsobanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s zone, Evaristo Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aris Tsobanis came out of the goal and Evaristo Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Evaristo Recife put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Aris Tsobanis. In the 25th minute, Ermis Karezis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th play minute Afonso Romero came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Aris Tsobanis. 3-0. With a little luck, P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s Aris Tsobanis got control of the ball when Dênis de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zé Paulo Rosa's late challenge caught a P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Paulo Rosa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Icoara Football Club's Zé Paulo Rosa got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 46th minute Demis Tavanopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Icoara Football Club got a freekick which was hit by José Ramalho. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aloísio Eger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Evaristo Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Icoara Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Recife was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute, Icoara Football Club's José Ramalho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed José Ramalho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Icoara Football Club protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and José Ramalho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 56 minutes into the game, one of Icoara Football Club:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 61st minute, Giorgos Antonopoulos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hélio Siqueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Afonso Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Aris Tsobanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aris Tsobanis having to interfere. Evaristo Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dênis de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 81 minutes into the match, P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s Sotiris Panagiotopoulos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hélio Siqueira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 83rd match minute, Icoara Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ermis Karezis didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Romero in the 99th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aris Tsobanis saved P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Icoara Football Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
