Florida Gulf Coast's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jem Makaronas in the 12th minute. If Prudencio Rafe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucio Geofredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Errando in the 15th minute of the match. Johannes Lundgren made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Prudencio Rafe sent off a good shot on target. When Gabriel Sanchez fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Florida Gulf Coast's protests and gave Gabriel Sanchez a yellow card for diving instead. Gabriel Sanchez kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Ekialde came free, but Lucio Geofredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Johannes Lundgren successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nestor Inko in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johannes Lundgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute of the match Florida Gulf Coast got a corner. Tacheros OFF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jem Makaronas ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 35th match minute, Florida Gulf Coast was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jem Makaronas to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nestor Inko to make the kick off. Oscar Errando kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Nestor Inko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johannes Lundgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsenio Emenon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Lucio Geofredo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Inko in the 66th minute of play forced Tacheros OFF's goalkeeper Johannes Lundgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tacheros OFF's Johannes Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Inko in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Nestor Inko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melquiades Atarratze's late challenge caught a Florida Gulf Coast's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melquiades Atarratze helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tacheros OFF's Melquiades Atarratze got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute, Mateo Gentza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Tacheros OFF getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Tomas Santikurtz hit a great ball. Florida Gulf Coast's Jem Makaronas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 77th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tacheros OFF. Nestor Inko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jem Makaronas kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Fernan Kaiet's late challenge caught a Florida Gulf Coast's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernan Kaiet helped the player get up and apologised. There was no doubt that Florida Gulf Coast were the better team. Florida Gulf Coast's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
