The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Jonny Rosales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Orozco in the 10th minute of play forced Zorros del Desierto's goalkeeper Abelardo Escerza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Zorros del Desierto's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Orozco came free, but Abelardo Escerza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to OROTINENSE getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rodolfo Orozco hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the game, Zelipe Claro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ulises Villegas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. OROTINENSE's Ulises Villegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco-Antonio Figueroa in the 31st minute of play. Camilo Pino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Ulises Villegas made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zelipe Claro in the 35th minute of play forced OROTINENSE's goalkeeper Ulises Villegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Zorros del Desierto's Marco-Antonio Figueroa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Buenaventura Paniagua in the 41st minute of play forced Zorros del Desierto's goalkeeper Abelardo Escerza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Rodolfo Orozco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Escerza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulises Villegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco-Antonio Figueroa in the 44th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Zorros del Desierto's Marco-Antonio Figueroa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ulises Villegas. That made the score 3-0 after 46 minutes of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco-Antonio Figueroa was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Rodolfo Orozco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Abelardo Escerza. The goal made the score 3-1. Ulises Villegas came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Zorros del Desierto's Zelipe Claro. But to his dismay, Zelipe Claro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Ulises Villegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco-Antonio Figueroa, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Luchito Fuentes kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Abelardo Escerza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonny Rosales in the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Salvador Montealegre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the match, Zelipe Claro notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of OROTINENSE's Ulises Villegas. Ulises Villegas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 72 minutes into the match, Zorros del Desierto's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Barrantes came free, but Abelardo Escerza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, OROTINENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Marco-Antonio Figueroa came free, but Ulises Villegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Zelipe Claro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zorros del Desierto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vladimiro Barroso during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute Hermenegildo Balboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Villegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
