A collision led to R.B Leipzig getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Alvarez Arredondo hit a great ball. With his leg Pelagius Cofresi managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when RED BLUE STAR's Niculae Perșa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Victor Răcănel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niculae Perșa in the 11th minute of play forced R.B Leipzig's goalkeeper Pelagius Cofresi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Nicodim Stancu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Victor Răcănel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pelagius Cofresi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Pompiliu Comarnescu came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by R.B Leipzig's Alvarez Arredondo. But to his dismay, Alvarez Arredondo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Firmo Tigero in the 25th minute of play forced RED BLUE STAR's goalkeeper Pompiliu Comarnescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdinand Pociu struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Pelagius Cofresi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RED BLUE STAR. Pompiliu Comarnescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Firmo Tigero in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, RED BLUE STAR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Ilie to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, RED BLUE STAR's goal looked a bit too open when Firmo Tigero came free, but Pompiliu Comarnescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. R.B Leipzig's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Victor Răcănel scored to the left of an out of position Pelagius Cofresi, making the score, 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Firmo Tigero made a kick off. If Alvarez Arredondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pompiliu Comarnescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dolfo Escoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victor Răcănel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pelagius Cofresi having to make a save. 64 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Niculae Perșa came free, but Pelagius Cofresi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. RED BLUE STAR were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after R.B Leipzig's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vintilă Ilie took the corner. In the 71st minute, R.B Leipzig's Tonete Manjaleguas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pompiliu Comarnescu. Pompiliu Comarnescu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Tonete Manjaleguas's late challenge caught a RED BLUE STAR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tonete Manjaleguas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th minute Alvarez Arredondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pompiliu Comarnescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, RED BLUE STAR's goal looked a bit too open when Dolfo Escoto came free, but Pompiliu Comarnescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
