Traian Vâtcă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darren Britton having to interfere. After 14 played minutes UE Sant Julià got a freekick which was hit by Damon Black. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolae Drogoreanu in the 16th minute of play forced UE Sant Julià's goalkeeper Darren Britton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Traian Podgoreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Wiltshire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicolae Drogoreanu to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Nicolae Drogoreanu notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of UE Sant Julià's Darren Britton.
