After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Águila's Ricardo Peña got a free kick in the 8th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Osmar Rossi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Deris Jimenez. Osmar Rossi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, America FC's Valdir Supereko got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Ian Pimenta made a precise shot to the right of Deris Jimenez. Club Deportivo Águila's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Ricardo Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Flores in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Nelson Hernández hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Deportivo Águila's Deris Jimenez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportivo Águila from getting a goal against them. Ricardo Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Félix Pimentel in the 31st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlando Flores in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Massa saved America FC from getting behind. After 43 played minutes Ademar Negri rounded Club Deportivo Águila's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ademar Negri made a kick off. Ademar Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Ricardo Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Félix Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nelson Hernández sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ricardo Massa was a little too slow when Félix Pimentel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 3-1. Ricardo Massa was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Félix Pimentel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Félix Pimentel really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. Orlando Flores could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Ricardo Massa made a huge save. 79 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Águila's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Eduardo Maciel came free, but Deris Jimenez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
