Alex Österlund kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Avantgarde's Georg Fernström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Bittencourt in the 8th minute of play. Georg Fernström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Léo Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Avantgarde's Linus Alberg got a free kick in the 16th minute. Georg Fernström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Léo Almeida went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Georg Fernström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Bittencourt in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 minutes, Edvin Andberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Avantgarde and the Inter de São Paulo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edvin Andberg hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Celsinho Bittencourt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Georg Fernström. Avantgarde's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jens-Ola Höijer charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jens-Ola Höijer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Inter de São Paulo booed when Avantgarde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Ola Höijer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu Melo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jens-Ola Höijer in the 29th minute. Léo Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celsinho Bittencourt in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Georg Fernström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Georg Fernström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Léo Almeida went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Celsinho Bittencourt put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Georg Fernström. Osvaldo Tepedino hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After 49 played minutes Inter de São Paulo got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Alcântara. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The wind increased when Celsinho Bittencourt made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Avantgarde's goalkeeper Georg Fernström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Léo Almeida. Osvaldo Tepedino hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Avantgarde's Edvin Andberg seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edvin Andberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Avantgarde protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edvin Andberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Avantgarde getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Edvin Andberg hit a great ball. 73 minutes in the game Osvaldo Tepedino got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. 76 minutes into the game, Celsinho Bittencourt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Georg Fernström. Celsinho Bittencourt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. After a rather tough play, Avantgarde's Alex Österlund got a free kick in the 79th minute. Ola Olenberg's late challenge caught a Inter de São Paulo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ola Olenberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Inter de São Paulo. Celsinho Bittencourt stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Georg Fernström. 0-6. Cacá Galvão hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. If Alex Österlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 101st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Inter de São Paulo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Avantgarde.
