But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonides Belarmo couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Atlético Mineiro getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Jonathan Vides hit a great ball. If Victoriano Maore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Leonides Belarmo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Prudencio Estevon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitório Fonseca in the 23rd minute of the match. Vitório Fonseca scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Prudencio Estevon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Leonides Belarmo managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.A. Cachila's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonides Belarmo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonides Belarmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lorenzo Fidele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 46th minute, Atlético Mineiro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Leonides Belarmo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Victoriano Maore took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diego Viana. Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Fidele in the 54th minute of play forced Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper Diego Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Viana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonides Belarmo went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 60th minute Leonides Belarmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Vides's late challenge caught a A.A. Cachila's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Vides helped the player get up and apologised. Jonathan Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute of the match Victoriano Maore sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diego Viana skillfully saved the ball. If Lorenzo Fidele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 65th minute Leonides Belarmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Cordarrel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenzo Fidele took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diego Viana. Diego Viana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After having played for 77 minutes, Lorenzo Fidele managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.A. Cachila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lorenzo Fidele was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atlético Mineiro's Diego Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Belarmo in the 88th minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Atlético Mineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Vides to maneuver through the defense. A.A. Cachila walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
