The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, one of Divorciados FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Divorciados FC. Juan Lobillo shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The supporters of Divorciados FC booed when PROTON F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabino Pechini didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Benito Ferdinand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lázaro Camus charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lázaro Camus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, PROTON F.C.'s Lázaro Camus got a free kick in the 12th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in PROTON F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! 14 minutes into the game, Divorciados FC's Octavio Erroman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eufemio Sazie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Wilfredo Aranguea kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Octavio Erroman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Divorciados FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Octavio Erroman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eufemio Sazie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Artemio Ferrer kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Divorciados FC's goalkeeper Eustaquio Ihintza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Divorciados FC's goalkeeper Eustaquio Ihintza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simón Domeyco. Eustaquio Ihintza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabino Pechini in the 30th minute of play. Eustaquio Ihintza was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Wilfredo Aranguea. 34 minutes into the game, Gabino Pechini recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eustaquio Ihintza. Gabino Pechini showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Simón Domeyco charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simón Domeyco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eustaquio Ihintza was a little too slow when Simón Domeyco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Divorciados FC's Eustaquio Ihintza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Cubillos in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Cubillos in the 57th minute of play forced Divorciados FC's goalkeeper Eustaquio Ihintza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Podador Picarte struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Eustaquio Ihintza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PROTON F.C.. The audience was convinced that Benito Ferdinand's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eufemio Sazie was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. In the 67th minute, Simón Domeyco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Divorciados FC's Pastor Mateo got a free kick in the 68th minute. Divorciados FC's Domingos Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eufemio Sazie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benito Ferdinand in the 74th minute. A collision led to PROTON F.C. getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Simón Domeyco hit a great ball. Podador Picarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustaquio Ihintza having to interfere. When Divorciados FC's Benito Ferdinand in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PROTON F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal.
