An unexpectedly hard shot by Kees Plappert in the 3rd minute of play forced FC NILS's goalkeeper Rune Vacker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jimmy Nässén hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. When FC NILS's Leif Ahlkvist in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sydney FC's goalie prevented a goal. FC NILS's Rune Vacker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thorben Rittmann in the 13th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Thorben Rittmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rune Vacker. FC NILS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thorben Rittmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Gabriel Michel got a free kick in the 19th minute. Bartolomeo Heinlein scored 2-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rune Vacker, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th minute, Kalle Palm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leif Ahlkvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Thorben Rittmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rune Vacker was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. With a little luck, FC NILS's Rune Vacker got control of the ball when Thorben Rittmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bartolomeo Heinlein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's Bartolomeo Heinlein sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rune Vacker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kalle Palm charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kalle Palm the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes FC NILS got a freekick which was hit by Kalle Palm. Sydney FC made a substitution. Pierre Möhn replaced Kees Plappert. The supporters of Sydney FC booed when FC NILS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kalle Palm didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thorben Rittmann to make the kick off. Bartolomeo Heinlein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Rune Vacker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rune Vacker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thorben Rittmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thorben Rittmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC NILS's Rune Vacker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Möhn in the 59th minute of play. Rune Vacker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thorben Rittmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th match minute, FC NILS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Skröder to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Bartolomeo Heinlein notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of FC NILS's Rune Vacker. Rune Vacker was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Möhn in the 72nd minute of play forced FC NILS's goalkeeper Rune Vacker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Bartolomeo Heinlein hit a great ball. When Bartolomeo Heinlein fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sydney FC's protests and gave Bartolomeo Heinlein a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute Pierre Möhn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Vacker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sydney FC's Florian Guderian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Ahlkvist in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute Adnan Tilner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Vacker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Ehrgott. In the 83rd minute of the match Thomas Näver sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Florian Guderian skillfully saved the ball. Rune Vacker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Möhn, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. FC NILS's Rune Vacker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Möhn in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute Thorben Rittmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Vacker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC NILS's goalkeeper Rune Vacker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
