Denílson Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nilton Negri fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Militros F.C.'s protests and gave Nilton Negri a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Militros F.C.! In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Mansfield Town FC. Malte Sundström stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Denílson Pernambucano. 0-1. The supporters of Mansfield Town FC booed when Militros F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mansfield Town FC's Leonardo Henriksson got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Denílson Pernambucano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malte Sundström in the 18th minute of play. After 20 minutes of play, Mansfield Town FC's Alexander Ugla made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denílson Pernambucano was left in no man's land by his defense there! 23 minutes into the match, Militros F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Malte Sundström came free, but Denílson Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denílson Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malte Sundström in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th match minute, Militros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Reis to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Militros F.C.'s Valdir Prado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arvin Åström. That made the score 1-2 after 26 minutes of play. In the 29th minute, Alexander Ugla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Juninho Bezerra fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 31st match minute, Militros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Militros F.C. getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Valdir Prado hit a great ball. When Mansfield Town FC's Malte Sundström in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Militros F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. 39 minutes into the game, Malte Sundström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Denílson Pernambucano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malte Sundström in the 42nd minute of play forced Militros F.C.'s goalkeeper Denílson Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mansfield Town FC's Malte Sundström in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Militros F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Mansfield Town FC made a substitution. Alfred Apelqvist replaced Henrik Hedkvist. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juninho Bezerra to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Benedito Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th play minute Malte Sundström came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Denílson Pernambucano. 1-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Malte Sundström in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denílson Pernambucano saved Militros F.C. from getting behind. After 59th play minutes Malte Sundström shot 1-5, a short shot which went by Denílson Pernambucano and just under the crossbar into goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Malte Sundström in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Denílson Pernambucano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdir Prado charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdir Prado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Militros F.C. booed when Mansfield Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Sjöman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute, Malte Sundström made a precise shot to the right of Denílson Pernambucano. Militros F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Denílson Pernambucano came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Mansfield Town FC's Malte Sundström. But to his dismay, Malte Sundström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. Malte Sundström scored 1-8 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Denílson Pernambucano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Dennis Sjöman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mansfield Town FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Sjöman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denílson Pernambucano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute Malte Sundström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denílson Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malte Sundström in the 87th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Malte Sundström got free with Denílson Pernambucano in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malte Sundström in the 95th minute of play forced Militros F.C.'s goalkeeper Denílson Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Malte Sundström in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denílson Pernambucano saved Militros F.C. from getting behind. Mansfield Town FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
