Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Boleslaw Falke to make the kick off. Herberto Vilar ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 74th match minute, Andarilhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. When Wladyslaw Mios fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ajax Poland's protests and gave Wladyslaw Mios a yellow card for diving instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Andarilhos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
