Ionică Drâmba didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Dacian Patrichi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Lambarri. Carnot's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dacian Patrichi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Rovine Craiova's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sandu Munteanu in the 19th minute. The corner led Rovine Craiova's Sandu Munteanu to fire away a dangerous shot which Juan Lambarri despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Carnot's goal looked a bit too open when Virgil Vergulescu came free, but Juan Lambarri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Iordache Andone fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rovine Craiova's protests and gave Iordache Andone a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rovine Craiova getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Iordache Andone hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Carnot defense, Silviu Stoian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Lambarri. The Carnot fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Lambarri should have stopped the shot. Viorel Apolzan kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Vergulescu in the 42nd minute of play forced Carnot's goalkeeper Juan Lambarri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Lambarri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgil Vergulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.
