The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zbyszek Smolarek showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Elbert Plescher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kazimierz Jarosz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. De Pelgrims's Elbert Plescher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arkadiusz Kieca in the 19th minute of play. Jan Klasen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 38 minutes, Jan Klasen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Pelgrims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Klasen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zbyszek Smolarek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huub Nagel in the 40th minute of the match. Kazimierz Jarosz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elbert Plescher having to make a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Huub Nagel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When De Pelgrims's Jan Klasen in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AP Tempo's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Klasen in the 61st minute of play forced AP Tempo's goalkeeper Zbyszek Smolarek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elbert Plescher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiusz Kieca in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, AP Tempo's goal looked a bit too open when Coos van Heiningen came free, but Zbyszek Smolarek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerrit van Gaal during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gerrit van Gaal kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. If Arkadiusz Kieca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. Kazimierz Jarosz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Elbert Plescher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gio Nagel's late challenge caught a AP Tempo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gio Nagel helped the player get up and apologised. After 73 played minutes De Pelgrims got a freekick which was hit by Gio Nagel. The audience thought a goal was coming when Huub Nagel got free with Zbyszek Smolarek in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Huub Nagel fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored De Pelgrims's protests and gave Huub Nagel a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes De Pelgrims got a freekick which was hit by Huub Nagel. When AP Tempo's Kazimierz Jarosz in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye De Pelgrims's goalie prevented a goal. Milosz Dudzik hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Jan Klasen struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Zbyszek Smolarek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Pelgrims. After a rather tough play, AP Tempo's Eugeniusz Siekierka got a free kick in the 94th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
