Léo Carioca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute, Gilberto Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th match minute, Colo-Colo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lois Reveco to maneuver through the defense. Salomone Comas made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Gilberto Alvarenga sent off a good shot on target. Lois Reveco's late challenge caught a Flamengo FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lois Reveco helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Colo-Colo's Lois Reveco got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute of the match Yuri Neiva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Salomone Comas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 44th minute Arnau Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Vodanovic in the 45th minute of play forced Flamengo FSCMZ's goalkeeper Léo Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 minutes of play, Colo-Colo's Arnau Ramos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Léo Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The supporters of Colo-Colo booed when Flamengo FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnau Ramos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Léo Carioca. Flamengo FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Colo-Colo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When Lois Reveco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played.
