Huib Alberts was slow to take the kick. During this time Bierunese's players had a chance to rest. In the 22nd minute, Gică Oros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ferdinand Brănescu's late challenge caught a Bierunese's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferdinand Brănescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th match minute, FC GURZUN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinand Brănescu to maneuver through the defense. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC GURZUN's zone, Huib Alberts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cătălin Dăianu came out of the goal and Huib Alberts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cătălin Dăianu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ron Westerink in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ron Westerink in the 48th minute of play forced FC GURZUN's goalkeeper Cătălin Dăianu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Ron Westerink got free with Cătălin Dăianu in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st minute, Alex van Zomeren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Nico van der Gun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cătălin Dăianu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ron Westerink in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, FC GURZUN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihail Ifrim to maneuver through the defense. Ron Westerink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, FC GURZUN's goal looked a bit too open when Ron Westerink came free, but Cătălin Dăianu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd match minute, FC GURZUN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurențiu Urdeş to maneuver through the defense. Huib Alberts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute Patrick Timmermans suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 91 minutes into the game, Costin Croitoru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC GURZUN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bierunese the free kick. A collision led to FC GURZUN getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Costin Croitoru hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Valentin Urdăreanu sped through Bierunese's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniël Kromme.
