Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopoldo Sanches in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vasyl Shevel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Joélson Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vasyl Shevel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Negri in the 17th minute of the match. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Joélson Paraibano got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 28th minute, Ruslan Rurych hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gianluigi Donnarumma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anatoliy Batyuk, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Joélson Paraibano hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Yarema Rybka received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gianluigi Donnarumma came out and tried to block the shot, but Yarema Rybka slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 37th minute. 47 minutes into the game, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Leopoldo Sanches nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vasyl Shevel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. FC Ruh Lviv made a substitution. Mykhaylo Schastlyvyi replaced Ruslan Rurych. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gennadiy Getsko in the 54th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute Leopoldo Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasyl Shevel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joélson Paraibanos short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Vasyl Shevel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, FC Ruh Lviv's Vasyl Shevel got control of the ball when Leopoldo Sanches tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vasyl Shevel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Sanches in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute FC Ruh Lviv were awarded a corner. Valentyn Lysogir went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Valentyn Lysogir got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gianluigi Donnarumma quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Vasyl Shevel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joélson Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
