In the 19th match minute, Springplank FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harm Korsma to maneuver through the defense. Sjoerd van Dalen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zdzislaw Walentowicz having to make a save. Leonard Sala scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick Pronk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Patrick Pronk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Kempka in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Mieszko Literski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Pronk was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. When Mieszko Literski came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the FC Grodzka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mieszko Literski couldn't finish the play. If Harm Korsma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mieszko Literski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Bjorn Hummel fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Springplank FC's protests and gave Bjorn Hummel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Springplank FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. FC Grodzka's Zdzislaw Walentowicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jari Litmanen in the 69th minute of play. Mieszko Literski took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrick Pronk. Patrick Pronk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 78th minute, Mieszko Literski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Pronk was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Patrick Pronk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Sala, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
