With an all-out effort, Los Patanes's Renato Rocha threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Evelio Pabla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 28 minutes into the match, Defensores de Savóia's goalkeeper Renato Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braulio Tajo. 32 minutes into the match, Los Patanes's goal looked a bit too open when Olívio Sampaio came free, but Donato Horado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernan Garci hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Defensores de Savóia's Tarcisio Botelho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tarcisio Botelho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Defensores de Savóia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tarcisio Botelho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 47th minute, one of Defensores de Savóia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Defensores de Savóia. In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Los Patanes. Esteban Mannie stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Renato Rocha. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Hernan Garci kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Defensores de Savóia's Renato Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorino Silbestre in the 63rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Olívio Sampaio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Donato Horado. That made the score 2-2 in the 66 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Ferraz in the 74th minute of play forced Los Patanes's goalkeeper Donato Horado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicanor Quintyn during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Los Patanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicanor Quintyn to maneuver through the defense. Renato Rocha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victorino Silbestre went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score.
