Maximo Arotza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The supporters of San Martin de Tucuman booed when Todos al Fondo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnin Somarriba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Todos al Fondo were furious when Saturnin Somarriba was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for San Martin de Tucuman. Moises Vela stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bittor Marchamalo. 2-1. When Lando Echeto fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Todos al Fondo's protests and gave Lando Echeto a yellow card for diving instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 3-3 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldo Palet made a kick off. In the 59th minute, Ronaldo Palet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Flavio Blai struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Bittor Marchamalo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Martin de Tucuman. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Maximo Arotza successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 68th minute, Osoitz Lombillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bittor Marchamalo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Berto in the 75th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Atilano Omero got a free kick in the 77th minute.
