After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Virgilio Buendia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salelles's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Buendia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximo Arotza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Florentino Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The San Martin de Tucuman fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when San Martin de Tucuman's Flavio Blai looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Virgilio Buendia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maximo Arotza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leoncio Portillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Flavio Blai made a precise shot to the right of Felipo Guerrero. Salelles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Benicio Lorien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipo Guerrero having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geronimo Bernaldo in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felipo Guerrero saved Salelles from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Blai in the 40th minute of play forced Salelles's goalkeeper Felipo Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florentino Machado hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Flavio Blai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Bermudo Canal in the 52nd minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Maximo Arotza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to San Martin de Tucuman getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Rogelio Clodio hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Flavio Blai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipo Guerrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipo Guerrero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Blai in the 64th minute of play. Geronimo Bernaldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flavio Blais short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Felipo Guerrero to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Flavio Blai's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Felipo Guerrero skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Geronimo Bernaldo took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Felipo Guerrero. Felipo Guerrero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Salelles's Bermudo Canal got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 82 minutes, Bermudo Canal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salelles and the San Martin de Tucuman players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 82 played minutes Salelles got a freekick which was hit by Bermudo Canal. Felipo Guerrero made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Flavio Blai sent off a good shot on target. In the 96thth minute of the game Flavio Blai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salelles's Felipo Guerrero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
