Martín Ferreyra was slow to take the kick. During this time Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's players had a chance to rest. With an all-out effort, Peñaloza's Dražen Ladić threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eduardo Castro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 17 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Marcelo Cordero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandre Cunha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's corner Martín Ferreyra fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alexandre Cunha quite easily take care of the ball. Alexandre Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Ferreyra in the 20th minute of play. Alexandre Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Cordero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Cordero in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Cunha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 41 minutes, Marcelo Cordero made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Peñaloza's Alexandre Cunha tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alexandre Cunha made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Marcelo Cordero sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcelo Cordero kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alexandre Cunha. That made the score 1-3 in the 53 minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Marcelo Cordero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandre Cunha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hélder Donatello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexandre Cunha having to make a save. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Jose Rayman was substituted for Estevão Benevides. Marcelo Cordero struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Alexandre Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT. In the 65th minute, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Marcelo Cordero dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. After having played for 68 minutes, Hélder Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélder Donatello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marcelo Cordero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Zheng Jing Feng was substituted for Marcelo Cordero. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Maximo Bertol was substituted for Hélder Donatello. In the 77th minute Zheng Jing Feng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peñaloza's Alexandre Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zheng Jing Feng in the 78th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Aquiles Xabat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dražen Ladić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute of the match Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT got a corner. Peñaloza's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Martín Ferreyra ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Peñaloza booed when Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Mingo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zheng Jing Feng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Peñaloza's zone, Zheng Jing Feng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Cunha came out of the goal and Zheng Jing Feng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zheng Jing Feng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Cunha having to interfere. The Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
