Albert Gaardahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francesco Toldo having to interfere. La Maquina 9-12-18's Jose Vimaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbe Stroobans in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute Carmelo Vachon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Toldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Maquina 9-12-18's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ahmet Baki Tecimer in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute of the match Peretu City 09 got a corner. La Maquina 9-12-18's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Francesco Toldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Gaardahl, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After 56 played minutes La Maquina 9-12-18 got a freekick which was hit by Dario Gelacio. 57 minutes into the match, La Maquina 9-12-18's goalkeeper Jose Vimaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Suleiman Süleyman. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Marcial Abar took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Jose Vimaro to make any attempt to save it. The Peretu City 09 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peretu City 09 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
