Hasan Hüseyin Orak might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ove Orm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hasan Hüseyin Orak ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Hartlepool's Åke Stål got control of the ball when Olov Åkesson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 7th minute, Olov Åkesson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Åke Stål, passed just outside the right post. Ove Orm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Oskar Kilberg in the 9th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the game, Egil Eagle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Åke Stål was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ralf Rask recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Hartlepool's Åke Stål got control of the ball when Olov Åkesson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute Elefanterna were awarded a corner. Sivert Sill went to the cornerflag to take it. Elefanterna's Sivert Sill was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Åke Stål in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elefanterna's goalkeeper Ove Orm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olov Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Olov Åkesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Hasan Hüseyin Orak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hartlepool's supporters rose to their feet, but Hasan Hüseyin Orak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ove Orm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ralf Rask received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ove Orm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egil Eagle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Åke Stål read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Hartlepool's Åke Stål proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Hartlepool from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 60th minute Elefanterna were awarded a corner. Sivert Sill went to the cornerflag to take it. Sivert Sill made a great header on Elefanterna's corner, it was just that Hartlepool's Åke Stål managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Hartlepool's Isac Bålström got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Hasan Hüseyin Orak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ove Orm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Isac Bålström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Georg Panda hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Hasan Hüseyin Orak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hartlepool's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hasan Hüseyin Orak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hjalmar Hjort kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Hjalmar Hjort's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Åke Stål read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Hartlepool's goal looked a bit too open when Olov Åkesson came free, but Åke Stål reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute Olov Åkesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Stål saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hjalmar Hjort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabian Fager in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ove Orm saved Elefanterna from getting behind. Egil Eagle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hjalmar Hjort might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Åke Stål. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hjalmar Hjort ran back to his position shaking his head. Mathias Tingelholm was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 92 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hartlepool fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! The referee gave Elefanterna a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sivert Sill, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hartlepool's Åke Stål. 2-2. After 96 minutes, Rickard Hjälm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elefanterna and the Hartlepool players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 97 played minutes Elefanterna got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Hjälm. In the 100th minute, Egil Eagle made a precise shot to the right of Åke Stål. Hartlepool's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Elefanterna had won after a very even match.
