In the 18th minute Philip Byström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Stål saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hasan Hüseyin Orak got free with Quirze Acha in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hartlepool's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Team Figo the free kick. A collision led to Team Figo getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ali Nejat Karasu hit a great ball. The long shot by Hasan Hüseyin Orak in the 47th minute really tested Quirze Acha's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hartlepool's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hasan Hüseyin Orak in the 49th minute. Per-Oskar Kilberg was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

In the 53rd minute, Team Figo's Mårten Bivall ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Åke Stål. Åke Stål yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Åke Stål successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 57th minute Ralf Rask shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quirze Acha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hartlepool's Bengt Blixt got a free kick in the 61st minute. When Team Figo's Ali Nejat Karasu in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Quirze Acha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charlie Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 78 minutes into the match, Hasan Hüseyin Orak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quirze Acha. Team Figo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hasan Hüseyin Orak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 87th minute, Hartlepool's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ali Nejat Karasu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ralf Rask took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Quirze Acha. Quirze Acha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. In the 92nd minute, Mårten Bivall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 minutes, Ali Nejat Karasu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Team Figo and the Hartlepool players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Team Figo got a freekick which was hit by Ali Nejat Karasu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Edström in the 97th minute of play forced Hartlepool's goalkeeper Åke Stål to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hartlepool were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Team Figo for a fine match.
