Daniel Alrot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Allan Helberg in the 3rd minute. Candido Urbes's late challenge caught a Sonstorps Fotboll's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Candido Urbes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mellbystrand IK getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Candido Urbes hit a great ball. Kurt Brogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janne Katt having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Mellbystrand IK's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Rosendahl came free, but Daniel Alrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kurt Brogren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Janne Katt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Janne Katt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Brogren in the 14th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Candido Urbes in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Janne Katt saved Sonstorps Fotboll from getting behind. Janne Katt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurt Brogren's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. If Kurt Brogren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31stth minute of the game Rune Tönnberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mellbystrand IK's Daniel Alrot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kurt Brogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janne Katt having to interfere. Daniel Alrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Rosendahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Törnblom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Janne Katt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Brogren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Kurt Brogren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Janne Katt was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Janne Katt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Brogren in the 58th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes Sonstorps Fotboll got a freekick which was hit by Wieslaw Dziewulski. A hard shot by Konrad Nordin from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Janne Katt's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 62nd minute, Candido Urbes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zebastian Blom kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Mellbystrand IK's Candido Urbes got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kurt Brogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janne Katt having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Rosendahl in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Alrot saved Mellbystrand IK from getting behind. After 78 played minutes Mellbystrand IK got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Mattsson. 80 minutes into the match, Sonstorps Fotboll's goalkeeper Janne Katt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kurt Brogren. Kurt Brogren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Janne Katt having to make a save. If Candido Urbes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurt Brogren in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Janne Katt saved Sonstorps Fotboll from getting behind. 92 minutes into the match, Mellbystrand IK's goal looked a bit too open when Helge Åström came free, but Daniel Alrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mellbystrand IK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
