The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wlodzimierz Cipinski came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Mellbystrand IK's Kurt Brogren. But to his dismay, Kurt Brogren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Isaac Göransson hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind GAIS's goalkeeper Wlodzimierz Cipinski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to GAIS getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Max Godet hit a great ball. Kurt Brogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wlodzimierz Cipinski having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurt Brogren in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wlodzimierz Cipinski saved GAIS from getting behind. The supporters of Mellbystrand IK booed when GAIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anastasio Raymundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurt Brogren in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wlodzimierz Cipinski saved GAIS from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Brogren in the 35th minute of play forced GAIS's goalkeeper Wlodzimierz Cipinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Brogren struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Wlodzimierz Cipinski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mellbystrand IK. In the 45th match minute, Mellbystrand IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Mattsson to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Emilio Jakue made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Emilio Jakue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Alrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kurt Brogren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Wlodzimierz Cipinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes GAIS got a freekick which was hit by Max Godet. In the 62nd minute of the game Max Godet made a throw-in which Filip Bäckman played forward. Wlodzimierz Cipinski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Candido Urbes in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Lekberg in the 69th minute of play forced Mellbystrand IK's goalkeeper Daniel Alrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Wlodzimierz Cipinski managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Mellbystrand IK's Kurt Brogren fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kurt Brogren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Wlodzimierz Cipinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wlodzimierz Cipinski was a little too slow when Kurt Brogren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-2. After having played for 90 minutes, Kurt Brogren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mellbystrand IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Brogren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Alrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Bäckman, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Kurt Brogren could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Wlodzimierz Cipinski however easily saved by the left post. Mellbystrand IK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
