In the 5th minute Kazimierz Dylla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Borubar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Pogoń Stawiszyn's Gilbert Podolski got control of the ball when Ksawery Arnista tried to sneak it across the goal line. Artur Borubar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kazimierz Dylla in the 8th minute of play. Marek Gozdowski hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Kazimierz Dylla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Borubar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Witold Gibowski made a precise shot to the right of Artur Borubar. FC Sieradz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Artur Borubar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryszard Pilipiec in the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of FC Sieradz booed when Pogoń Stawiszyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryszard Pilipiec didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Sieradz's Filip Trac got a free kick in the 19th minute. The FC Sieradz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Artur Borubar should have stopped the shot. When Pogoń Stawiszyn's Ryszard Pilipiec in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Sieradz's goalie prevented a goal. After 36 minutes, Iwo Kasprzak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Sieradz and the Pogoń Stawiszyn players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Pogoń Stawiszyn booed when FC Sieradz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iwo Kasprzak didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Kazimierz Dylla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Artur Borubar was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Sieradz's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 46th minute Ryszard Pilipiec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Borubar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryszard Pilipiec made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Kazimierz Dylla made a precise shot to the right of Artur Borubar. FC Sieradz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Kazimierz Dylla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Artur Borubar came out and tried to block the shot, but Kazimierz Dylla slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 57th minute. When Ryszard Pilipiec came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Pogoń Stawiszyn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryszard Pilipiec couldn't finish the play. 64 minutes into the match, Pogoń Stawiszyn's Kazimierz Dylla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Borubar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulryk Lepucki in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert Podolski saved Pogoń Stawiszyn from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Artur Borubar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gilbert Podolski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boguslaw Ryback in the 71st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ksawery Arnista during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes FC Sieradz got a freekick which was hit by Ksawery Arnista. In the 95th minute, Pogoń Stawiszyn's Ryszard Pilipiec ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Artur Borubar. Artur Borubar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-11. The Pogoń Stawiszyn supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pogoń Stawiszyn would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
