A collision led to BYDGOSTIA getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Radomil Mindykowski hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Lemel SV's Dries Teunisse got a free kick in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radomil Mindykowski in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olivier Kahn saved Lemel SV from getting behind. BYDGOSTIA's Stasio Rozanski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ton Janus in the 25th minute of play. After 27 played minutes BYDGOSTIA got a freekick which was hit by Feliks Iwanowski. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ton Janus in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stasio Rozanski saved BYDGOSTIA from getting behind. Gabriele Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stasio Rozanski having to interfere. Dries Teunisse's late challenge caught a BYDGOSTIA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dries Teunisse helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dries Teunisse to maneuver through the defense. Radomil Mindykowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Radomil Mindykowski to make the kick off. After 59 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Pieter den Hartog. In the 61st minute, Pieter den Hartog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. BYDGOSTIA made a substitution. Hieronim Brudnicki replaced Radomil Mindykowski. Pieter den Hartog kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After having played for 67 minutes, Grzegorz Bierfass managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BYDGOSTIA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grzegorz Bierfass was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Olivier Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hieronim Brudnicki in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Bogumil Rywin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hieronim Brudnicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. BYDGOSTIA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
