Vivaldo Silva started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 3rd minute of play forced Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goalkeeper Wilian Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vivaldo Silva hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, Doni Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute of the match, David Vale tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilian Quadros saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ronaldo Pirani succeeded in the game's 12th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. With his leg Wilian Quadros managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 21st play minutes Ronaldo Pirani shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Wilian Quadros and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 29th minute, Clemente Teles made a precise shot to the right of Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Palestra do Interior's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After having played for 32 minutes, Doni Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelsinho Marinho got free with Wilian Quadros in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the game, Serafim Simão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilian Quadros. Serafim Simão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. In the 41st minute, Palestra do Interior's Serafim Simão ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wilian Quadros. Wilian Quadros yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Wilian Quadros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nelson Xavier went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Palestra do Interior fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-1. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Doni Pimenta hit a great ball. In the 74th match minute, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Teles to maneuver through the defense. Wilian Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilian Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After a rather tough play, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Cássio Galvão got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Wilian Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelsinho Marinho in the 89th minute of the match. Peder Neira kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Palestra do Interior's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
