Edgar Arce had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Tiaguinho Falcão's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 8th minute, Tiaguinho Falcão made a precise shot to the right of Edgar Arce. Grêmio RK75's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 16 minutes of play, MONTANHA's Nilton Pinho made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgar Arce was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Grêmio RK75's Betão Falcão got a free kick in the 20th minute. Edgar Arce didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nilton Pinho went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Edgar Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdomiro Valladares in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdomiro Valladares took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Arce. Edgar Arce dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. The supporters of Grêmio RK75 booed when MONTANHA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidnei de Salles struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Sílvio Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio RK75.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tostão Munhoz to make the kick off. Edgar Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The Grêmio RK75 fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Grêmio RK75's Paulo Nunes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 62 minutes into the match, MONTANHA's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Nunes came free, but Sílvio Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Raimundo de Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MONTANHA's protests and gave Raimundo de Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MONTANHA getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Raimundo de Carvalho hit a great ball. Paulo Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 67 minutes into the match, MONTANHA's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei de Salles came free, but Sílvio Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Paulo Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio RK75's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Váldson Botelho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sílvio Sarmento. MONTANHA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Nunes in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sílvio Sarmento saved MONTANHA from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Nunes in the 81st minute of play forced MONTANHA's goalkeeper Sílvio Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Grêmio RK75's Paulo Nunes in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MONTANHA's goalie prevented a goal. After 87 played minutes Grêmio RK75 got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Nunes. Sílvio Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Nunes in the 91st minute of the match. Sílvio Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Nunes in the 92nd minute of play. The MONTANHA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MONTANHA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
