In the 5th match minute, Monte Hermoso Beach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florentino Gil to maneuver through the defense. Palestra do Interior's Doni Pimenta pulled a muscle in his back after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Erasmo Rodriguez's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erasmo Rodriguez helped the player get up and apologised. Palestra do Interior's Delfim Quintal was substituted for Doni Pimenta. Erasmo Rodriguez hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 20th minute of play forced Monte Hermoso Beach's goalkeeper Fidel Lorien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Joseph in the 22nd minute of play. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Basilio Demario was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monte Hermoso Beach's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick. The supporters of Monte Hermoso Beach booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute of the match, Ronaldo Pirani tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fidel Lorien saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Monte Hermoso Beach made a substitution. Anastasio Enol replaced Miguel Joseph. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nelsinho Marinho was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Simão in the 55th minute of play forced Monte Hermoso Beach's goalkeeper Fidel Lorien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Serafim Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafim Simão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fidel Lorien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64th minute, David Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But to his dismay, Anastasio Enol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Fidel Lorien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peder Neira during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Erasmo Rodriguez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante didn't even have to move. 85 minutes into the game, Christiano Palmeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palestra do Interior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monte Hermoso Beach the free kick. Fidel Lorien showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafim Simão in the 88th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Marinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Fidel Lorien was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Palestra do Interior fans cheered their team off the field, for while Monte Hermoso Beach had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
