The supporters of Grêmio RK75 booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisão de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante got control of the ball when Wilson Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Palestra do Interior were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 91st minute of the match, Delfim Quintal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edgar Arce saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 95th minute, Luisão de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Grêmio RK75 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palestra do Interior were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
