Cazimir Curteanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th minute, Fabian Grozuță hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Simared -MM-'s Nicodim Codrea got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute of the match, Nicolae Mandache got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cazimir Curteanu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugurel Magheru in the 39th minute of play forced Minerul Baita -MM-'s goalkeeper Aurelian Vârlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Simared -MM- getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Mugurel Magheru hit a great ball. Cazimir Curteanu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 42nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cosmin Bobeica. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cazimir Curteanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Minerul Baita -MM- getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Cosmin Bobeica hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cosmin Bobeica to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Cosmin Bobeica made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Simared -MM-'s Cazimir Curteanu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicolae Mandache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Cazimir Curteanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simared -MM- made a substitution. Ernest Enoaia replaced Mugurel Magheru. 59 minutes into the match, Simared -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Cornel Mihai came free, but Cazimir Curteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Minerul Baita -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Simared -MM- the free kick. A collision led to Minerul Baita -MM- getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Nicolae Mandache hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Simared -MM-'s zone, Cosmin Bobeica stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cazimir Curteanu came out of the goal and Cosmin Bobeica tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Corneliu Nae was substituted for Maxim Grecescu. In the 70th match minute, Minerul Baita -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Mandache to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 72 minutes, Nicolae Mandache managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minerul Baita -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolae Mandache was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Albert Oncescu was substituted for Gică Aldulescu. Aurelian Vârlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiberiu Huștea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Minerul Baita -MM- booed when Simared -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matei Humă didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Simared -MM- defense, Cosmin Bobeica kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cazimir Curteanu. The Simared -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cazimir Curteanu should have stopped the shot. The Minerul Baita -MM- fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Minerul Baita -MM-'s Cosmin Bobeica looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Ernest Enoaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the game, Cosmin Bobeica was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Minerul Baita -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Simared -MM- the free kick. After a rather tough play, Minerul Baita -MM-'s Cosmin Bobeica got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ionuț Baran in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cazimir Curteanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Simared -MM-'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
