The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Marcus Batista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juninho Pernambucano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 8th match minute, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Barros to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute Décio Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kong Gang Zhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute Alfredão Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kong Gang Zhan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Décio Salgado's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After 22 minutes of play, Cremonese FC's Afiz Cho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juninho Pernambucano was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Décio Salgado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kong Gang Zhan was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Válter Machado got a free kick in the 30th minute. A collision led to Cremonese FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Marcus Batista hit a great ball. Luís Quintal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kong Gang Zhan firmly grabbed it by the left post. Kong Gang Zhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Luís Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Quintal couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Gilson Valadares hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcus Batista to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Batista got free with Juninho Pernambucano in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juninho Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizinho Arce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Pernambucano having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Arce came free, but Juninho Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Luizinho Arce fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Marcus Batista received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juninho Pernambucano came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcus Batista slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 65th minute. Cremonese FC's Dida Tróia was substituted for Luizinho Arce. Alfredão Cosme's late challenge caught a Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredão Cosme helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Alfredão Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Cremonese FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Alfredão Cosme hit a great ball. Juninho Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After some careless play in the Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ defense, Dida Tróia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juninho Pernambucano. The Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juninho Pernambucano should have stopped the shot. If Gilson Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Felipe Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Válter Machado was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Kong Gang Zhan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
