Marcelo de Souza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Lúcio Miranda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Eugênio Leme's late challenge caught a Lupere FC - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lúcio Miranda came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Lupere FC - DMZ's Marcelo de Souza. But to his dismay, Marcelo de Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a little luck, Lupere FC - DMZ's Silas Bastos got control of the ball when Murillo Pitta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lúcio Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Décio Salgado was substituted for Murillo Pitta. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's zone, Marcelo de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Miranda came out of the goal and Marcelo de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Lúcio Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo de Souza in the 82nd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Décio Salgado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silas Bastos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Many of Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ may have spent more time on the ball, but Lupere FC - DMZ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
