Detlef Schapiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şeref Tansu having to interfere. Detlef Schapiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Şeref Tansu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Detlef Schapiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Hakkı Deniz Direms short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Bert Becker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 13 played minutes Oldenbüttel got a freekick which was hit by Kim Warnst. Şeref Tansu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Detlef Schapiro in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Detlef Schapiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şeref Tansu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Huhn kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Oldenbüttel's zone, Hakkı Deniz Direm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bert Becker came out of the goal and Hakkı Deniz Direm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute Detlef Schapiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şeref Tansu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Oldenbüttel defense, Hakkı Deniz Direm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bert Becker. The Oldenbüttel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bert Becker should have stopped the shot. Levan Schub received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Şeref Tansu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hakkı Deniz Direm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Detlef Schapiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Şeref Tansu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Detlef Schapiro to make the kick off. Oldenbüttel's Bert Becker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hakkı Deniz Direm in the 52nd minute of play. In the 59th match minute, Güngors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Namık Kemal Sazak to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Oldenbüttel booed when Güngors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alperen Hatipoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Oldenbüttel's Julius Seligmann broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bert Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hakkı Deniz Direm in the 64th minute of play. Güngors's Ulaş Öztaylan got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hakkı Deniz Direm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Güngors's goal looked a bit too open when Detlef Schapiro came free, but Şeref Tansu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, Oldenbüttel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kim Warnst to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the game, Amerigo Eichelkraut was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oldenbüttel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Güngors the free kick. After 77 played minutes Oldenbüttel got a freekick which was hit by Amerigo Eichelkraut. After 78 minutes of play Güngors's Alperen Hatipoğlu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Levan Schub sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Levan Schub recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Güngors's goalkeeper Şeref Tansu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Levan Schub. Marc Huhn struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Şeref Tansu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oldenbüttel.
