An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciano Briz in the 13th minute of play forced Alianza Trujillo's goalkeeper Ximenes Barnechea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alianza Trujillo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alianza Trujillo's Ximenes Barnechea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Alianza Trujillo from getting a goal against them. Ximenes Barnechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Maestri in the 36th minute of play. With a little luck, Alianza Trujillo's Ximenes Barnechea got control of the ball when Flavio Maestri tried to sneak it across the goal line. One of Alianza Trujillo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Deportivo Municipal:s goal. Alianza Trujillo:s Ximenes Barnechea showed great skill when he stopped Flavio Maestri:s penalty. Flavio Maestri scored 4-0 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ximenes Barnechea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ximenes Barnechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Maestri in the 95th minute of play. Deportivo Municipal were awarded a corner in the 101th minute after Alianza Trujillo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joanes Bas took the corner. Deportivo Municipal's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
