Sporting Cristal were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after AC Papicho's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gertjan De Ryck took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Gertjan De Ryck got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alexander Shaw quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

AC Papicho's Rodolfo Mora was substituted for Egun Lisundia. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fernanco Peso made a kick off. With a little luck, AC Papicho's Alexander Shaw got control of the ball when Fernanco Peso tried to sneak it across the goal line. 58 minutes into the game, Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexander Shaw made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Jon Iruegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Lapadula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gianluca Lapadula in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon Iruegas saved Sporting Cristal from getting behind. When Gianluca Lapadula got free in front of the goal in the 71st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jon Iruegas was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Ludomil Kolba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ludomil Kolba hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. AC Papicho's Fryderyk Kisiel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ronaldão Nogueira, made in the 81st minute of the game. Frasquito Abrego received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Jon Iruegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sporting Cristal's Hüseyin Turan Elçibey got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Luciano got free with Alexander Shaw in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sporting Cristal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gertjan De Ryck in the 90th minute. The corner led Sporting Cristal's Gertjan De Ryck to fire away a dangerous shot which Alexander Shaw despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by 孟弘银 in the 91st minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
