The referee ignored Carlisle United's protests and gave Samuel Elding a yellow card for diving instead. Samuel Elding hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The supporters of Carlisle United booed when SeleSantos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlisle United's Brad Hudson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Cearense in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Gale came free, but Tales Siqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Thomas Power left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carlisle United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 47 minutes into the game, SeleSantos FC's Wilian Cearense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brad Hudson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jay Gale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tales Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Power in the 55th minute of play. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 2-4 when Jay Gale sped through SeleSantos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tales Siqueira. Cléber Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléber Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd match minute, SeleSantos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Lima to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Jay Gale made a precise shot to the right of Tales Siqueira. SeleSantos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jay Gale in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tales Siqueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th minute, Thomas Power hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the game, Jay Gale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-4. Tales Siqueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eurico Prestes hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After 94 played minutes, Carlisle United's Gav Williams shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tales Siqueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carlisle United reached it. When Carlisle United's Thomas Power in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
