Kosina S.A's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ajax Poland the free kick. In the 19th match minute, Kosina S.A was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Löfkvist to maneuver through the defense. When Ajax Poland's Eugeniusz Poniewaz in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Özal Gerdaneri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Poniewaz in the 54th minute of play. When Eugeniusz Poniewaz came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ajax Poland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugeniusz Poniewaz couldn't finish the play. Özal Gerdaneri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugeniusz Poniewaz's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Özal Gerdaneri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
