Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Ernesto Bezerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. Ernesto Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The Independente FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gugu Silva to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Zé Carlos de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independente FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Carlos de Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 52 played minutes Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos Brasil. If José Vítor Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nestor Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Salles in the 70th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the game, Zé Carlos de Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ernesto Bezerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Giuseppe da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
