The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vladimir Braga hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Mauro de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duda Guedes in the 5th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, AF GuiFiguer OUT!!'s goal looked a bit too open when Jailson de Carvalho came free, but José Maria Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Guedes in the 12th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Mauro de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Renato Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but José Maria Loureiro made a huge save. In the 14th minute, Duda Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Maria Loureiro made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Anselmo Batista sent off a good shot on target. Wilson Vidal came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and José Maria Loureiro could save by the left post. Dudu Queiroz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Maria Loureiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. With a little luck, AF GuiFiguer OUT!!'s José Maria Loureiro got control of the ball when Paulo Renato Souza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mauro de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duda Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 played minutes AF GuiFiguer OUT!! got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Ramalho. In the 48th match minute, AF GuiFiguer OUT!! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Cafu Bastos made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Jailson de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute, Dorian Terra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nova Iguaçu MZFC made a substitution. Dalmo Rocha replaced Telmo Barbosa. Dorian Terra hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Zé Carlos Cordeiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Maria Loureiro. AF GuiFiguer OUT!!'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mauro de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duda Guedes in the 69th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jailson de Carvalho in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Loureiro saved AF GuiFiguer OUT!! from getting behind. Dadá Maravilha kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After 75 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Vidal. José Maria Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Carlos Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Loureiro having to interfere. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Juvenal Novaes hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Jailson de Carvalho notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of AF GuiFiguer OUT!!'s José Maria Loureiro. José Maria Loureiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mauro de Salles made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Jano Botelho sent off a good shot on target. Jano Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while AF GuiFiguer OUT!! had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
